Expressing speed and forward motion in a singular brand statement, this sleek, streamlined signage program heralds Amtrak’s Acela high speed rail service at 16 Northeast Corridor stations from Boston, MA to Washington, DC. It was also the very beginning of our wonderful long-term partnership with Amtrak. A diverse array of stations—from large to small, historical to contemporary—demanded design flexibility and creativity.

A sensuously curved “airfoil“ shape forms the stylistic nucleus, and from there we created a “kit of parts” to allow consistency from station to station, and ease of installation and maintenance.
