Washington, DC is a compact metropolis of worldclass museums, theatres, architecture, restaurants, and of course: politics. The dream of a citywide signage program had for decades proved elusive, until we were retained as the lead consultant. We were able to build consensus, harnessing design and leadership skills to overcome competing interests and build support among over 30 independent groups and eight regulatory agencies.

Our system balances DC’s traditional image with a modernist approach. The federal star in the cast metal sign bases provides a North arrow for orientation, and indelibly stamps these signs with the signature of our nation’s capital.
