The Life Sciences building on the NCC campus is a 70,000 square foot facility housing labs, classrooms, faculty offices, and administrative suites. C&VE designed interior wall graphics tailored to the use of each floor: general classrooms and library, chemistry, or nursing. The colors of the room ID and statutory signs complement the wall and floor colors. Exterior monument signs make bold use of the college’s colors and ID signs are keenly integrated with the building’s canopies.
The graphic treatment at the Life Sciences building set a precedent for environmental graphics across campus. A few years later, administrative offices that had been scattered across campus have been merged into one central location: the Student Services Center. C&VE was invited back to design and direct the wayfinding and identity system for the newly renovated space.
