Few roads in the US have as rich and storied a history as Woodward Avenue. From Center City Detroit to Pontiac, Michigan, the 27-mile roadway is the heart and soul of the American automobile industry, center of technological innovation, birthplace of much of this country’s music and art, and window into the labor and civil rights movements of the past 100 years.
Our ‘Tributes’ are 30-ft monuments of glass panels backlit with solar powered LEDs. Work by local artists celebrates Woodward’s history. Fully implemented, they will form a series of beacons, proudly commemorating its past, present, and future.
